Kenji Wakasugi is a Japanese photographer born in Osaka, Japan.
Graduating from Tokyo Technical School of Photography, he started to work at Roppongi Studio in 1970.
Since 1975 he has been working as a freelance photographer.He took photographs to put out a book and
write a weekly column for a magazine, while travelling around China and Nepal between 1988 and 1995
and also South Pacific Islands and Patagonia between 1997 and 2002.
He has worked mainly as a portrait photographer for some magazines taking photographs of well-known
writers,presidents, scholars、world celebrities and others. Now he is creating his works by combining
Japanese traditional arts and his photography as the focal point of his expression.
